The Kite Runner

This book is also known as "Flyga Drake" in swedish.
It is about a boy named Amir and his servant Hassan, and they're best friends.
They live in Kabul which is described as a very colorful and happy place, a magical place.
Hassan suddenly got raped by a couple of boys, trying to teach him a lesson.
So he moves, knowing he couldn't live with such humiliation.
Amir knows why, but he doesn't tell anyone, so Amir's father hasn't got a clue why Hassan moved away with his father.
Later on, Afghanistan is invaded by The Soviet Union, so Amir and his father have to flee the country, to California.
Then the story moves to when Amir is about twentyfive years old, and he hasn't seen Hassan since they were little.
His dying uncle tells him to come to Afghanistan to meet him.
When he arrived, he gets some very sad and terrible news.

This book has a heartbreaking story which makes you smile at the same time. You wish the pages would keep on going forever.
