This is the first book of the Skulduggery Pleasant series made by Derek landy.
I have read the book and it's a great book.
Skulduggery Pleasant is a skelleton who can do magic and he is a detectiv and he fights for the good ones.
He saved a girl from the streets when she was small, Stephanie Edgley.
When Stephanie get's older her uncle dies and she get's her uncles beachhouse and one day Stephanie want's to be there by herself in her beachhouse.
Late at night she get's "robbed" and in walks Skulduggery Pleasant and saves her life...
Stephanie remembers him from her childhood and she want's to come with him on his missions.
At first he hesitates but then he let's her come with on is adventures.
Skulduggery and Stephanie makes a great team.
The first books is mostly about how Skulduggery and Stephanie meet each other.
